In August 12–21, 2025, the research vessel R/V Skagerak conducted an expedition to eastern Greenland together with the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat, the University of Gothenburg, the British Antarctic Survey, and the NERC Arctic Office.

The expedition is carried out with the icebreaker Oden. The scientific questions focus on providing new knowledge on the marine cryosphere’s dynamic history and response to future climate change and the North Greenland Ice Sheet’s contribution to global sea-level rise.

The main theme concerned the microbiological life in the ocean and ice and how it's connected to cloud formation in the Arctic.

iQ2300 2025/26 was the first field season within the research theme East Antarctica's contribution to sea level rise in the year 2300 – iQ2300, which aims to increase understanding of how the East Antarctic Ice Sheet affects future sea levels.

The expedition included maintenance work at the Swedish station Wasa.

Southern Ocean Carbon and Heat Impact on Climate

This Argentine-Swedish research expedition was collecting archaeological data from the first Swedish Antarctic Expedition.

An Antarctic expedition where 60-70 tons of material, vehicles and waste were transported from Wasa. At the same time, studies were carried out on the research station's building construction.
