From August 10 to September 20, 2026, the icebreaker Oden and the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Louis S. St-Laurent will conduct a joint expedition to map the seabed in the Arctic Ocean within the framework of the UNCLOS program

In summer 2026, a research expedition will be carried out to Bear Island (Bjørnøya) in the Barents Sea.

This expedition is part of the Polar Connect initiative – a long-term effort to develop a secure and resilient digital connection between Europe, North America and East Asia through the Arctic.
