Checklist before arrival

Arrival information

On the day of arrival, you will receive an email with information about your stay.

In my application, I have indicated if I need:

  • access to own office
  • store samples at the station
  • store equipment at the station
  • store batteries at the station
  • space in lab
  • access to workshop
  • specific help from the station's technicians

Before my laboratory work, I have
indicated:

  • the use of chemicals in my application
  • have you sent electronic documents of the MSDS, CAS number and risk assessment to the laboratory manager
  • received approval for laboratory access
  • read through the station's guidelines and information on the website regarding laboratory work
  • instructed or has been instructed on procedures and safety measures for laboratory work
  • packed suitable indoor shoes and clothes for laboratory work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I want to fly drones?

Abisko Scientific Research Station is located in a nature reserve that borders Abisko National Park to the west. If you're going to fly drones in the area, you must read these rules.

Can I bring visitors to the station?

It is not permitted to bring outside guests to the research station without first notifying the reception. Outside guests are not allowed to stay overnight or use our facilities, such as the kitchen and sauna.

What rules apply to bringing chemicals to the station?

If you plan to bring chemicals to the research station, please let us know in advance. This is because we need to:

  • arrange safe storage
  • ensure that the chemicals stay within the regulations for which they are permitted.

Can you order dry ice for my project?

Yes, we can help order dry ice.

Can you order gas and liquid nitrogen for my project?

No, gas and liquid nitrogen are ordered by each research project, preferably via Linde.
