Oden leaves Helsingborg

Helsingborg, 15 July 2024
Today, icebreaker Oden left the port in Helsingborg to take the helicopters on board during the day and secure them for the journey. When that work is finished, Oden departs for Greenland! On board are personnel from the Polar Research Secretariat, a multibeam operator, and the crew from the Swedish Maritime Administration. When Oden arrives at Pituffik (formerly Thule) in Greenland on August 5, the researchers get on board, and the North of Greenland 2024 expedition can start.
Update July 18
A little later than planned, but without affecting the schedule for the expedition, Oden left Helsingborg (Råå) on Thursday.
