After departing from Pituffik, two buoy systems were deployed as part of the research program International Cooperative Engagement Program for Polar Research (ICE-PPR), in which Sweden is a partner. The transit north initially takes place in open water, with occasional icebergs, but soon, the ice appears. It doesn't take long before we spot a female polar bear with two cubs walking on the ice.
