Environmental Monitoring in Antarctica

An environmental monitoring programme has been established to monitor the environmental impact of activities around the Swedish Svea and Wasa stations in Antarctica.

The programme is described in detail in Caroline Watier's thesis "Environmental Monitoring at Swedish Research Stations in Antarctica".

The programme is intended to monitor and assess the impact of human activities from a long-term perspective. The programme includes the collection of snow and soil samples to monitor the impact of and predict tendencies toward fuel spills in Antarctica.
